German director Luca Werner has cultivated an artistic sensibility that allows him to capture the honest and the authentic.
His striking art film "Pools" perfectly illustrates his approach: intuitive, physical, and rich with emotional undertones.Growing up in a suburban town, he began filming and photographing his friends after a row of serious injuries ended his dream of becoming a professional snowboarder.
His practice is rooted deeply in the observation of everyday life. His images, imbued with humanity, tell stories as much as evoke feeling.Now recognised for his work, Luca Werner collaborates with international brands such as Hermès, Loro Piana, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Rimowa.
